One of the most sought after key market for Indian movies is USA which gives a solid opening for promising movies and a successful collection figure in US. A quality film could have been underrated and have missed to get the success many times in TN and other places. But US audience never miss to make a good film taste success irrespective of the star cast and other aspects in the film.
Now lets see the boxoffice figures of the weekend September 9-11 for Indian movies in US boxoffice. Among these except Janatha Garage all other movies are new releases.
Baar Baar Dekho (Hindi) $500K which marks the half million mark of the movie and sure to get the success rate soon although touching million dollar mark is tough! Jo Achyutananda (Telugu) too got appreciable figure of $313K with low MG. Much expected IruMugan/Inkokkadu (Tamil and Telugu) jointly collected $135K in opening weekend which is not a satisfying figure. Although previous week release Janatha Garage (telugu) managed to collect consistently making $120K in this weekend and Freaky Ali (hindi) made $36K and fall short of expectations.
