Super Star Krishna is well known for his daring, dashing ventures and remaking ANR's classic film 'Devadasu' is small proof to it. His well-wishers advised him not to go forward with the project and not to get into any rivalry with ANR but Krishna took it as challenge to make the film.
Suppressing all odds Krishna has released his Devadasu on 6th December, 1974 in a grand way. Krishna's Devadasu also had soothing music, crispy screenplay, required chemistry between Krishna- Vijaya Nirmala and more things than ANR’s Devadasu. But the movie bombed at box office miserably and that credit goes to Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
ANR has got his Devadasu re-released at every nearest theater where Krishna's Devadasu was screening. Once again ANR's magic in the character of 'Devadasu' worked out well and his movie went super hit on its re-release as well. And this turned out to be costliest mistake made in Super Star Krishna film career.
