Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce has alleged that there is a conspiracy behind the Ticket Prices hike in the state. The Chamber bigheads allege that some leases in Tollywood have bribed the Home Secretary and got the G.O. of tickets hike without the knowledge of the Chief Secretary.
The state government has got the whiff about this conspiracy and finally rolled back the ticket prices hike. Few theaters have started following the new pricing and even sold some tickets on hiked prices. But they had to lower the prices after the G.O. is withdrawn.
On the other side, there is still a hike in the ticket prices of the state due to the GST Tax that came into effect from today. GST is 18% on tickets priced below 100 and it is going to be 28% for tickets above 100. Precisely, Muliplex tickets will be attracting 28% GST.
