Thala Ajithkumar's latest offering Vivegam, which released on August 24 amidst much fanfare and humongous expectations, has been having a mighty successful run at the worldwide box office. Though the film initially received mixed to negative reviews upon release, the film has been constantly trolling haters and paid reviewers with its stupendous collections all over the world.
Directed by Siva, the film had Ajith playing a counter terrorist squad officer Ajay Kumar aka AK, who overcomes the betrayals he faces to protect his wife played by Kajal Aggarwal, besides also saving the world from a huge destruction plan by the antagonist Vivek Oberoi. The film has been having a solid run in theatres, with theatre owners rejoicing the success of Vivegam, by expressing their joy over the movie performing much better than the films that released later. The film has reportedly collected a mammoth 152 crores, with 106 crores at the Indian box office and 46 crores overseas.
Now, the industry is abuzz with news that the combo of Ajith and Director Siva that has had a hat-trick of successful flicks so far with the village flick Veeram, the gangster centred sister sentiment flick Vedhalam, and now the spy action thriller Vivegam, will reunite for the 4th time, and that this time they'll be coming with a space adventure flick.
However, we hear from highly bankable sources that it's not going to be an educative space flick like Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' or Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'. It's going to be a fun-filled space movie like Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Yep! That is why Director Siva is too special for 'Thala' Ajith and he knows the pulse of the audience. We also hear that this feature is going to be a Multi-starrer and two giant production houses might involve in this project. The team has already started the ground work and the Official confirmation will be revealed on Diwali.
