Popular Tamil director Sundar.C has announced a few months ago that he'll be directing his dream project, the big-budget historical Sangamitra in Sri Thenandal studios limited production, and the same was announced at the Cannes film festival with character sketch posters of the lead actors Arya, Jayam Ravi she Shruthi Hassan. The film was supposed to have music by A.R.Rahman.
However, Shruthi Hassan exited the project stating that Sundar C had not narrated her the story completely and that she can't continue being a part of an incomplete project for which she never got a bound script. Following this, the project never had any progress, and the lead actors Jayam Ravi and Arya moved on to their next commitments and Thenandal studios moved on to Mersal starring Vijay.
Now, the director has announced that he'll be Making the sequel to his 2012 hilarious entertainer Kalakalappu, with Jiiva, Jai, Nikki Galrani and Catherine tresa in lead roles. This film will have music by Hip Hop Thamizha and will be bankrolled by Kushboo in Avni Cinemax. Besides, there are rumors that Sangamitra might be restarted later with Disha Patani.
