The 2014 Tamil classic Jigarthanda, directed by Karthik Subbaraj after his debut success Pizza, though was a commercial failure, turned out to be a cult film and gained a fan following of its own later. Besides, the film also won its antagonist Bobby Simha a national award in best actor category.
Buzz is that this film is gonna be remade in Hindi, and this film will star Farhan Akhtar, in the role of a director, which was played by Siddharth in the original, and the terrific gangster antagonist role played by Bobby Simha will be reprised by Sanjay Dutt. Siddharth who is touted to play the lead role once again missed the chance. It should be recalled that Siddharth was Samantha's ex-boyfriend and they broke up due to difference of opinion.
This film will be produced by actor Ajay Devgn and Abhinav Shukla, and will be directed by Nishikant Kamat, who had earlier directed Force, Mumbai Meri Jaan and the latest Rocky Handsome. With the Kannada remake of Jigarthanda, released an year ago , failing to set the box office on fire, it is to be seen how this Bollywood version turns out.
