Recently, a leading distributor and owner of a leading multiplex in Tamil Nadu, Mr.Abirami Ramanathan said, no Producers or Trade pundits can never say the BoxOffice figures until the movie complete its whole run. The exact figures will be known only to them.

Recently, most of the movies have been made successful with posters claiming that the movie has grossed 150 Crores, 125 Crores, why not? even 200 Crores! So, if the movie has actually grossed the distributors would have got a break even by then already.

With the rise of Piracy, Social media opinion, the fate of the movie is already decided within a day or two. Vijay's 'Mersal' which opened to below average reviews, was pushed forward due to marketing gimmicks. The actor intentionally spoke wrong facts and irked the ruling party and that created some noise. Later, some paid trackers blow things out of proportion by inflating the collections 5x times as no one is going to check or question them.

If this is a trouble, the fanbase who are unemployed is an added advantage for some actors. Vijay's fans are higher in this case. Earlier, when TNM editor Ms.Dhanya Rajendran was abused a Vijay fan apologized in tears and said he abused considering her as an Ajith fan! Recently, another Vijay fan is arrested for posting derogatory remarks on the Nation's Prime Minister Modi. A case was booked under CrPC section 505 for conducting public mischief and IPC section 67 IT ACT, 2008 for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.

This happens mostly in the Tamil and Telugu Film Industries as anyone with a YouTube channel is a reviewer, tracker, critic, etc., It's often the distributors and theater owners who face losses and that's why they demand compensation every time.

These inflated collections and 100 Crores, 500 Crores, posters are not going to do any good for the actor or the production house in future. However, these things cannot change until fans start to think rationally.
