The Deepika Padukone starrer upcoming fictional period flick Padmavati had been the cynosure of controversies ever since the movie began its shooting, with protests happening against the movie, and protesters and religious outfits entering a rebellion of sorts against the movie, even barging into the shooting location and thrashing the director and crew.
The sensational movie which was always tagged as an anti-Rajput movie and deemed to be misrepresenting history and facts and defaming Rajput dynasty, met a whole new level of oppression as the movie was postponed from its scheduled date of December 1 after threats from various political outfits, and the film underwent huge troubles.
Following a viewing by the revising committee of the central board of film certification, with 26 cuts and making the ghoomar number controversy-free, besides also renaming the movie to Padmavat, it has been expected that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali Directed movie also starring Ranveer Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shahid Kapoor might hit screens on January 25, battling with Neeraj Pandey Directorial Aiyaary and Akshay Kumar starrer Padman. However, the movie won't get a release in Rajasthan alone!
