Anushka Shetty is back on screen after a break, with her social thriller Bhaagamathie, which had been in the making for long, while also facing numerous delays and reshoots, and has finally released today in both Telugu and Tamil, amidst great expectations. Also starring Jayaram, Unni Mukundan, and Saha Sarath, here's team AP Herald's exclusive Bhaagamathie first report.

The movie begins with Chanchala IAS played by Anushka, taking up a development project much against the wishes of Jayaram, and ultimately gets framed in a criminal case. However, situations force her to be locked in a haunted bungalow, and she gets troubled by Bhaagamathie. Who's Bhaagamathie, what's her mission, and was Chanchala out of the crime web is what Bhaagamathie is all about.

Anushka delivers a stupendous performance, as she impresses as the naive, honest and passionate Chanchala IAS, and as the powerful, ruthless Bhaagamathie waiting for revenge. Unni Mukundan is adequate while Jayaram looks menacing.

With impressive CG works and Mathie's stunning Cinematography serving as assets for Bhaagamathie, director G Ashok comes up with an engaging screenplay and keeps the audience glued to the seats, and even though the first half takes time to establish the plot, the second half is mighty impressive, with thrill moments and twists. All said Bhaagamathie ensures some good thrilling entertainment and a comeback for Anushka with her daring act.
