The Lady Superstar of Tollywood, Anushka Shetty aka Sweety Shetty, who was last seen in the 2017 magnum opus SS Rajamouli directorial Baahubali 2 : The conclusion , as the warrior princess Devasena vying for revenge, is back on screens with her latest release, the G Ashok (Pilla Zamindar fame) directorial Bhaagamathie which released on Republic Day weekend.
The movie stars Anushka in a role that presents her in dual shades, as the honest IAS Officer Chanchala who's framed in a political conspiracy case, only to be haunted by a dead queen Bhaagamathie's spirit which is waiting for its kill. While the movie has met with mixed to average critical reviews, with critics raving Anushka's thundering performance, in particular, the box office has been going on in an encouraging manner.
Bhaagamathie has collected more than 12 crores share in its extended 3 days opening weekend in Andhra Pradesh / Telangana, and in the US, the film has had a terrific boom, taking the highest ever opening for a movie with a female-centric plot and a female protagonist at the helm of affairs, and has already amassed a huge collection at the USA Box-Office.
With Lady Superstar Anushka showing her box office stamina, Bhaagamathie which has collected 35 crores worldwide gross, has already been declared a hit, as it has already recovered 80% if investment.
