The young hero Akhil Akkineni had a disastrous start to his career with the VV Vinayak directorial Akhil which released with huge expectations but went on to face huge failure results, making him go on a hiatus for 2 years before finally coming back with a movie directed by Vikram Kumar, the man known for directing Manam, a special movie for Akkinenis.
Manam was not just a special Movie considering the fact that it was the last movie of the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao, but also brought back king Nagarjuna from a slump in form with few back to back debacles and earning him a comeback hit. The movie also had Akhil in it. This time Vikram Kumar joined hands with Akhil for hello, a simple love story.
Though initial responses and reviews were positive, Hello eventually ended as a failure, losing to Nani starrer MCA Middle class Abbayi which ran well despite negative reviews. After Hello debacle, Akhil was supposed to do a movie with RGV as well, but it was not an immediate project.
While he had been approached by many including Sukumar, Boyapati Srinu, and Koratala Siva ready with scripts, and matinee productions locked to produce, Akhil hasn't given his nod to any of the scripts, this annoying Akkineni fans. Now, 'Hello' flop has ruined Kalyani who paired with him. Kalyani has now moved to Tamil just like Sayyeshaa did after pairing with Akhil earlier. Fans are totally irked with him right now.
