When the teaser and trailer of Jai Simha, the 102nd film of Nandamuri Balakrishna was released, there were nil expectations on the film, as the film's director KS Ravikumar had not given a hit in the recent years, and Balaiya too had his last release Paisa Vasool as a huge failure.

Moreover, the film was released on Sankranthi, which also saw the release of the most anticipated flick, Agnyaathavaasi starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and directed by maverick maker Trivikram Srinivas, and everyone was focusing only on Agnyaathavaasi, and there was zero focus on Jai Simha. Nayantara's comeback has now helped Balayya to taste a huge success. No wonder, they call her as 'Lady Super Star'

However, PSPK25 sank without a trace thanks to the poor content and plagiarism accusations, and Jai Simha started to pick up with its emotional content, and Balayya's mass scenes, besides Nayanthara's acting being highlights, and ultimately, irrespective of trolls, the film has ended its box office run with closing shares of 35 crores worldwide of which 28 crores was the share from AP/ TG, making it a surprise hit for Balaiya.
