The versatile and supremely talented actress, Anushka Shetty, known for her extreme ease in getting into the skin of the character, be it a royal queen in Arundhati or a damsel in distress in the same movie, or a sex worker in Vedham, the obese girl in Size zero or a warrior in Rudramadevi, was back after a lull, with her last release Bhaagamathie.
The movie, directed by G Ashok of Pilla Zamindar fame, had Anushka playing an IAS officer Chanchala, with another shade of a Queen Bhaagamathie, and amazed audience with her powerhouse performance, especially with her swag and unmatched attitude in the interval and climax shots of Bhaagamathie.
Post the success of Bhaagamathie, reportedly Anushka has been approached by director Naga Ashwin, to play Yesteryear actress Bhanumathi in Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actress Savithri. Bhanumathi, an actress, and singer lived in the times of Savithri and had a vital part in her career. With Anushka yet to sign on the dotted lines, it'll be interesting to see if Bhaagamathie beauty transforms to Bhanumathi avatar next.
