Young hero Akkineni Akhil, who played a cameo in Manam, and then debuted as a hero with the 2015 flick Akhil directed VV Vinayak, had a disastrous start to his career, as the film bombed badly at the box office, despite the association of a top director of Tollywood.
However, he took a huge gap of 2 years, and returned on screens last Christmas , with the Vikram Kumar directorial love story Hello, which was lauded by critics, but couldn't quite turn out to be a box office hit, and lost the contest to MCA Middle Class Abbayi starring Nani, which was a blockbuster with negative reviews.
Following the failure of Hello, it was reported that Akhil had listened to scripts from Koratala Siva, Puri Jagannadh, Sukumar and even RGV, and it was expected that he will sign Koratala Siva flick first. Even if he leaves movies and focus on sideways like Ads and Brand endorsements, it would make his fans happier. But, he is totally keeping a muted response.
As per bankable sources, Akhil listened to a narration by KS Ravindra, and also from Tholi Prema director Venky Atluri. However, his delay in selection without committing any flicks has made Akkineni fans get annoyed and worried if Akhil's career will end without even a takeoff.
