Akkineni prince Akhil, who started his career on a disastrous note with the huge flop Akhil directed by maverick maker VV Vinayak, later went on a sabbatical for 2 years before returning on screen with the Christmas 2017 release Hello directed by the ever creative maker Vikram Kumar.
Though both King Nagarjuna and Akhil had pinned high hopes on this movie to save his career and establish himself in Tollywood, especially as Vikram Kumar was known to have given a comeback for Nag with Manam.The film which opened to positive reviews ended a disaster despite facing competition from MCA which received negative reviews to end as a blockbuster.
After Hello, when fans were waiting for the official announcement of Akhil's next, there were numerous rumors of Akhil listening to scripts from various makers including Koratala Siva, Ram Gopal Varma, but was non-committal on any of these scripts. However, finally, it was announced that Akhil is set to join hands with Venky Atluri who had just delivered the romantic superhit Tholi Prema with Varun Tej. This movie will be bankrolled by BVSN Prasad in his SVCC films banner. Raashi Khanna also has been confirmed to do the female lead role in this project.
