Among all the projects currently in the making in Tollywood, the most prestigious and happening movie happens to be the big-budget magnum opus, the biopic of the legendary yesteryear actress Savithri, Mahanti / Nadigaiyar Thilagam directed by Nag Ashwin of Yevade Subrahmanyam fame.
The film has Samantha Akkineni playing a pivotal role, as a journalist, and the whole plot of Mahanati is weaved in such a way that the life of Savithri is visually presented through her eyes and perspective. The movie also has her husband Naga Chaitanya in a cameo as Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Recently, Samantha wrapped her portions for Mahanati, and she even took it to twitter to express her joy of working in the movie and thanked Nag Ashwin for giving her this opportunity. In this case, the whole shooting has been completed and the Pumpkin breaking ceremony also took place. Starring Keerthi Suresh as Savithri, Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, Mahanati releases worldwide on May 9.
