Mega Powerstar Ramcharan starrer latest release, the Sukumar directorial Period drama Rangasthalam, set in the 80s, has turned out to be a huge blockbuster, and had grossed 100 crores in 3 days, and is currently at a worldwide gross of 113 crores, and a share of more than 70 crores, almost recovering its whole budget already.

The film has earned rave reviews for the performances of Ramcharan, Samantha, Anasuya and Aadhi Pinisetty, especially with Charan's performance being called his best ever performance, and Anasuya and Samantha being revelations. Aadhi Pinisetty, who was looking for that huge break, has got it with Rangasthalam thanks to his subtle act. The best part of Rangasthalam was that due to the ongoing Tamil cinema industry Strike, Rangasthalam had a huge, widespread release in states like Tamilnadu as well, and especially in Chennai, the movie opened to 25 lakhs on opening day, breaking the previous record of 24 lakhs held by Agnyaathavaasi.

However, now, the Rangasthalam Rampage in Chennai and Tamilnadu is coming to an end, as the Telugu film association has decided to extend its support to TFPC, and has decided not to release Telugu films in Tamilnadu anymore, and hence, Rangasthalam will not be running in Tamilnadu from Sunday. Though Rangasthalam has ended its TN run in a premature manner, thanks to TFPC's Vishal's plans, the movie is sure set to break and make new Tollywood Box office Records.
