Sumanth, the relative of Akkineni Nagarjuna, had given few hits in the past, like the Shekhar Kammula directorial Godavari, and has always been known for playing the soft, romantic hero roles. However , his attempt to turn massy had failed, and the actor was devoid of hits for a long time.
However, Sumanth had made a striking return to films, with his last year release Malli Raava. The breezy romantic entertainer had Sumanth paired with Aakanksha Singh, and though not a commercial success, went on to receive critical acclaim, and opened new avenues for Sumanth.
Post the success of Malli Raava, Sumanth went on to commit Idam Jagath, a dark thriller, which will have loads of action and thrills. The movie, directed by debutant Anil Srikantam, has Sumanth playing a journalist, paired with Anju Kurien who had played a role in Premam, and the movie is all set to release by July end.
