Ranjith directorial, Karthi starrer social entertainer action flick Madras, hitting the right notes, with her character of a North Madras girl next door Kalaiyarasi, winning her critical acclaim for her realistic performance.
However, post the movie, she was flooded with commercial, full-on glam roles with typical song-dance routines and oozing sex appeal, just like her Telugu movies like Gautam Nanda, Iddarammayilatho etc, where she had even appeared in Skimpy bikinis to sustain the market.
Post the failed results of flicks like Kanithan, Kathakali and Kathanayagan, Catherine Tresa is back in Tamil cinema , as she has been roped in to play the female lead opposite the handsome Siddharth in his next venture to be directed by debutant Sai Shekar, and produced by Trident Arts who had previously produced movies like Vikram Vedha, and had released flicks like Aval and Aramm.
