Responding to Mumbai lady photographer’s gang rape case, actress Kareena Kapoor says that the time has come to reconsider the present situations and the country need stricter laws to protect the women. She clearly expresses that there is no safety in India and it is difficult for women to be fearless. The actress says that the unfortunate incidents are happening all over India but only some of them are out and many others are being hidden because of illiteracy.

She expresses that her sister has a daughter (6 years old) so they want her to be safe when she grows up. She hopes that by the time the child becomes 16, there will be good change in the society. The actor thinks that media has an accountability to circulate information and it should also emphasize the guilty.

Responding to a question, she replies that movies are not meant to change the society. But, it is great if people be inspired though films. The governments and politicians should change the society though bringing out stricter laws and it is not the responsibility of actors. It’s known that a 23 years old lady photographer was gang-raped by five men in a desolate mills compound in Mumbai.
