Director Maruthi had been known initially for his double entendres and crass comedies and had slowly brought himself out of that image, after his initial hit Ee Rojullo, Bus stop to his transformation to directing bigger and known heroes like Nani, Sharwanand and Victory Venkatesh.
While he had scored hits with disorder oriented hero stories like Bhale Bhale Bhale Magadivoy and Mahanubhavudu, he failed with the mass entertainer Shailaja Reddy Alludu starring Naga Chaitanya, Ramya Krishnan, and Anu Emmanuel.
Now, the same director has planned to remake Nagarjuna's 'Ratchagan' remake and the shooting is expected to begin by early 2020. The original was directed by Praveen and it had music by A.R.Rahman.
