Actor Karthi was last seen in the rural family entertainer Kadaikutty Singam directed by Pandiraj and costarring Sayyesshaa, Sathyaraj, and Soori, and the movie had become the biggest blockbuster of the year, becoming a comeback for Karthi after the disastrous result of last year's Kaatru Veliyidai.
She was seen in the Adventure road thriller Dev, which was directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar, and co-stars his Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru heroine Rakul Preet Singh as his lead pair, and also stars veterans Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, and Prakashraj.
The movie had music by Harris Jayaraj and Karthi played a free spirit character named Dev Ramalingam, and the movie bankrolled by Prince pictures was an average hit. But now, it is all set to get a dubbed release in Kannada.
