The controversial hero of Tamil cinema, Simbu aka STR had faced a colossal disaster in 2017 in the form of Anbanavan Asarathavan Adangathavan, and following the failure of the movie, he had faced a huge career setback and had faced backlash for his lack of punctuality and discipline.
However, Simbu had recently made a grand comeback in style, as his recent release, the multistarrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam directed by ace director Maniratnam and costarring Dayana Erappa, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi and many others, raced to a massive 95 crores collection.
After this massive success, Simbu played the lead role in Sundar C directed remake of 2013 blockbuster Tollywood flick Attarintiki Daaredhi starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, and recently during an interview a theater owner revealed that Rajini's '2.O' and STR's 'VRV' are the biggest flops and it never recovered the investments.
