Bollywood masala movie maker Rohit Shetty had last delivered the successful comic caper Golmaal again, and now he has once again enthralled audience with his latest release Simmba. Simmba is the official remake of Puri Jagannath directorial Temper (2015) that starred Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal.
Released on December 28, Simmba stars Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, and Sonu Sood, and the movie has amassed a whopping 124 crores net in just five days of release and the lack of competition with SRK failing miserably with Zero and cameos of Akki and Ajay Devgn have greatly favored Simmba.
Simmba also turned out to be Rohit Shetty's eighth entry in 100 crores club post Bol Bachchan, Dilwale, Golmaal Again, Singham, Singham Returns, Golmaal 3, Chennai Express making him the director with most 100 crores movies, and for Ranveer, after Ram Leela, Bhajirao Mastani and Padmavat, Simmba is his fourth 100 crores movie. As per BO, the movie stands behind Chennai Express right now.
