By January, We witnessed the release of two of the biggest movies of Kollywood, the Thala Ajith starrer, Siva directorial rural entertainer Viswasam and the Superstar Rajnikanth starrer Karthik Subbaraj directorial revenge thriller Petta, and both the movies were released amidst gargantuan expectations.
On day 1, at the Chennai box office, Viswasam has collected 0.88 crores, while Petta has collected 1.12 crores. However, overall, Viswasam has collected more than Petta and emerged as a clear winner. Viswasam was ahead of Petta by miles. Even after a digital release and completing a long run, the movie is doing a good business at Tamil Box-Office.
Viswasam also stars Nayanthara and Anikha Surendran and is based on a lovely bonding between a father and a daughter. The movie which recently had a Telugu release has emerged successfully again. The movie was sold for a decent price and that has been a profitable venture for theater owners and distributors.
