Director Farhan Akhtar started his career with the coming of age blockbuster Dil Chahta Hai and then directed hit movies with Hrithik and SRK namely Lakshya, Don, Don 2, following which he turned an actor with the hit musical Rock on, which lead to him pursuing acting seriously.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Wazir, and Rock on 2 became hits and Farhan had turned out to be a most wanted star, and direction was nowhere in sight. Of late there had been rumors that SRK and Farhan might join for Don 3 before SRK starts Mahesh Mathai's Rakesh Sharma biopic.
Now, the word is out on Farhan Akhtar's next acting venture. It has been made official that Farhan will be reuniting with his hit director, the critically acclaimed maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra with whom he earlier gave superhit Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in an emotional story of a boxer's life in a movie named Toofan. Alia Bhatt will be doing the female lead role.
