Kodali Nani who started his Political Career with TDP later switched his loyalties to YSR Congress and has become a bitter critic for the party since then. TDP is keen on defeating him at any cost. Raavi Venkateswara Rao who contested and lost in the last election may not be a strong candidate, the party feels.
Late Devineni Nehru's son, Devineni Avinash may be fielded from here against Nani. But Political Observers say that this may be a wrong step as the Local/Non-Local feeling will set in and help Nani. Moreover, the local leaders in Gudivada who were denied ticket may not co-operate with Avinash.
Having on Opposition side for three consecutive terms, it is important for Nani to win this election. He also believes that he will certainly get a cabinet berth this time if he and YSR Congress wins this election. Nani's followers say Chandrababu indeed will help Nani if Avinash's candidature is finalized.
