Makkal Selvan vijay Sethupathi was last seen on screen in Super Deluxe directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja where he played a transgender and next he is actin in  vijay Chandar directorial Sanga Tamizhan and started working on  Laabam directed by SP Jhananathan.

Recently the actor went for the inauguration of a jewelry showroom in Madurai and when quizzed on doing TV shows the actor said working in TV is a display of the recognition and said he does not differentiate between films and TV shows.

vijay Sethupathi said it is no rule that cinema people must enter politics, and people who have the willingness to serve people and have real knowledge can come to politics. He also said one must check the truth in any news before share it. He also said that his movie with shruti Haasan is based on politics.
