Makkal Needhi Maiam leader, actor Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan said in his campaign at Aravakurichi that the first terrorist of independent india was Nadhuram Godse, a Hindu who killed Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking at elections campaign in Aravakurichi, Kamal Haasan said Nadhuram Godse was the first terrorist of Independent india and he was a Hindu adding that he didn't mention it for gaining votes of Muslims but said in presence of Gandhi statue.

Kamal Haasan added he's the grandson of Gandhi who came to query his death. Kamal also mentioned  india must maintain peace and those people who want to divide and rule must get eliminated, and any terrorism is evil.
