Suriya came a year after the release of his pongal 2018 release Thaanaa Serdha Koottam with NGK helmed by acclaimed maker Selvaraghavan who last made fantasy entertainer Irandam Ulagam and NGK was bankrolled by SR prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures.
NGK featured Sai Pallavi and rakul preet singh as female leads and with music by yuvan Shankar raja also starred Uma, bala Singh, Ilavarasu, Vela Ramamoorthy and ponvannan in important characters in the political violent entertainer.
