Superstar Rajnikanth had last delivered the revenge drama Petta helmed by karthik Subbaraj which turned out to be commercially successful outing after duds like Kaala and now he is acting in his 167th flick Darbar, helmed by AR murugadoss and bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Darbar is canned in mumbai with Superstar Rajnikanth playing a cop and lady superstar Nayanthara paired with him a decade post blockbuster Chandramukhi. Darbar also features sunil Shetty, prateik babbar, Nivetha Thomas, yogi Babu, among others.
Darbar targets a pongal 2020 release and in an unexpected turn of events director Siva after his blockbuster Viswasam has met Superstar Rajnikanth at his residence and narrated a script for him and if this works out, it will be Siva's next after his movie with Suriya. Now reports confirmed that Siva will work with Rajini for a new project and it will feature Kajal as the female lead. The movie will go on floors by 2020.
