Recently after the declaration of NEET exam results, a student Rithushree from Tirupur committed suicide due to fewer marks, as she could not get MBBS seat. Director Pa Ranjith tweeted against NEET saying this central government made law on NEET denying education to poor and the state government could not even oppose it and people are silently being responsible for such deaths.
After Pa Ranjith's tweet, many supported him and some replied that people die failing in plus two exams as well so that one cannot ban that exam. BJP member and actress gayatri Raghuram tweeted rather than suicide they must try the exam again.
Media reports added the filmmaker has directed only four films and he has taken the industry by storm with the socio-political commentary in his films. Furthermore when resenting a subaltern perspective through his filmmaking and exploring the uncomfortable realm of caste politics, the director has been vocal in his stance against the NEET examinations, among other pressing issues, which has been a point of contention between the state and the Central government.
