Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biographical epic action drama helmed by surender reddy and funded by ram charan under Konidela Production Company banner. The script is fictional and is also based on the life of the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
The movie also had a parallel release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The movie features Nayanthara as the female lead along with a prominent supporting cast of Sudeep, vijay Sethupathi, Tamannaah, jagapati babu and Niharika Konidela. Bollywood's Big B amitabh bachchan is making his guest appearance.
Sushmita Konidela who is the costume designer of the movie now revealed secrets about the costumes. She said, "Ram Charan has seen my work in 'Khaidi No 150' and he got more confidence after my work in 'Rangasthalam'. Once I put my head into something, I am extremely committed to it. The story happens in timeline between 1800-1850 and it was quite challenging. We created Narasimha Reddy costumes with history and mixed it with our own cultural history, in terms of panchekattu, kanduva, turban, bottu, which is all very south-centric. Both Nayanthara and Tamannaah wore sarees which were about 12 metres long. We had a bunch of women who were experts at draping sarees.
