Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR was famous for his portrayal of mythological roles especially as Lord Venkateshwara, God Rama & Lord Krishna in Telugu cinemas. Even his negatives characters like Ravana, Karna & Duryodhana were received equally well from the audiences.
NTR has got the title ‘Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma’ from kanchi peetadhipathi in 1961 after he saw NTR’s acting skills in ‘Seetha Rama Kalyanam’ movie. This film has won National award under best film category from India government that year in which NTR has portrayed the character of Ravana and mesmerized everyone with his performance .
Harinath, Gitanjali has done the roles of Lord Rama & Goddess Seetha in this film. Sobhan Babu has done the role of Laxmana and Kanta Rao has done the role of Narada Maharshi in this film.
