Superstar Rajinikanth was shooting for his upcoming film, Lingaa in Anajpuram, a little village in Ranga Reddy district, Telangana. The movie unit has obtained all the permissions from local administration for the shooting but still the movie shooting had to be halted. The villagers protested against the movie unit and stalled the movie unit.
The villagers complained that the movie unit is contaminating the local pond in the village by releasing wastes. They made slogans against Rajinikanth and the movie unit complaining that they are contaminating their only drinking water source. Local administration is trying to convince the villagers to allow the movie unit to shoot.
On the other side, the movie unit has assured that they will take care that the pond is safe. Earlier this year. Rajamouli's Baahubali shooting was also stalled in the same location for same reason. Lingaa has 10 days of shooting left in and around Hyderabad before going to abroad for the next schedule.
The actor is playing a dual role in the movie. The actor will be playing a district collector and an unknown role in a flashback sequence.Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha will be seen beside the older Rajini and Anushka Shetty will romance the younger one in the film. Lingaa will mark the Southern debut of Sonakshi Sinha while this will be the first film for Anushka with Rajinikanth.
