Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from her husband of 5 years, Tom Cruise citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
The Mission Impossible star, attracted media attention, just months ago in May 2005, when he professed his love for the former Dawson’s Creek actress, on the famous Ophrah Winfrey Show.
Immediately, in November 2006, Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes in an Italian Castle. They have a daughter together and two children from Tom’s previous marriage to Nicole Kidman.
The filing of divorce comes just after days of the split of US actor Johnny Depp with his model/actress wife Vanessa Pardins.
Katie has asked for the sole custody of their 6 year old daughter, Suri Cruise and has also asked for a particular amount of cash that would ensure the wellbeing of their daughter.
The Rock of Ages star is deeply sadden by the turnout of events, regarding his personal life and also said that he did not see the divorce coming.
