Even the Khans of Bollywood had started feeling the heat of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali. Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan had released on Friday amid huge fan fare as Eid Special. The movie had got rocking reviews and talk, but yet could not manage to beat Baahubali's first day record. Baahubali is the biggest opener in Indian Cinema by collecting 42.10 gross on its opening day.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan was expected to beat the record easily
Given Salman Khan's star power, the positive talk and reviews and Eid advantage, Bajrangi Bhaijaan was expected to beat the record easily. But it is not even easy for Sallu Bhai, the movie just managed to collect 28.74 Crore gross on its opening day. However Bajrangi Bhaijaan is still the biggest opening Hindi movie in 2015. It should be a proud moment for Telugu people as Bollywood started feeling the heat.
However Bajrangi Bhaijaan had still managed to damage Baahubali. The movie which is going steady at the Hindi box office, lost many of its theaters and Multiplex shows to Bajrangi Bhaijaan in its second week. However the movie is already a profit venture for the Hindi distributor. Trade pandits expect Baahubali-2 to have even more breathing space in Bollywood given the good work of Baahubali.
