Our readers are aware that a man named Munikoti tried to self immolate himself with petrol the other day at Congress party's Poru Baata Meeting, demanding Special status to Andhra Pradesh. He was immediately shifted to Ruya hospital, Tirupati and then later was shifted to Vellore, Tamil Nadu for better treatment.
The doctors there shifted him to Chennai for even better treatment. Even with the best efforts by the doctors, the man who suffered more than 70% burns could not be saved. His death had shocked the entire state and now the people are bubbling with anger on central government which is turning a deaf ear to Andhra Pradesh.
The Special Status agitation had kicked off a storm back in Andhra Pradesh in the last few days with the opposition parties gearing up for agitation. While the Left and Congress are already in roads, YSR Congress is planning a dharna at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on 10th August. People believe that Special Status is the only way out for the truncated state to survive.
