Akansha Puri recently made her debut in the recently released 'Calendar Girls'. The movie is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. Akansha did role of Nandita Menon in the movie.
I will not be typecasted after 'Calendar Girls'.
This is her debut movie in Bollywood. However she has already acted in Karthi's 'Alex Pandian' earlier. Regarding question of being labelled as glam doll she said," I will not be typecasted after 'Calendar Girls'. I am sure that audiences are very mature and sensible today.
I don't think they would carry any particular perceptions for long. They are not dumb these days; you can't fool them just by showing the posters. They just look for the content in the movie."
However 'Calendar Girls' has never lived up to the expectations and the mixed responses has made the movie to collect only Rs.3.4 Crores from first three days of its release.
