'Puli' is Kollywood's latest fantasy flick which is directed by Chimbudeven. The movie features Vijay in dual roles and the rest of the cast includes actors like  Sudeep, Sridevi, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani, Prabhu and Nandita Swetha. Vijay's former Public Relations Officer P.T.Selvakumar has produced the movie as a joint venture along with Shibu Thameens. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Natarajan Subramaniam fondly called as Natty handles the cinematography portion. T.Muthuraj is the art director. The teaser of the movie was released on June 21st and it became the most disliked teaser in South India. The movie released last week and it opened to negative reviews.

National Award winning director Sreekar Prasad took care of editing. The movie is distributed by Sri Thenandal Films in Tamil Nadu and Ayngaran International in Overseas. As the movie has failed, the makers are right now requesting celebrities to post something in favour of the movie. They even forced Rajinikanth to watch the movie and he watched the movie at his residence and he gave a statement that the movie was good. Similarly Actor Jiiva, 'Jayam' Ravi, Sibiraj, Samantha, Tamannaah, Samuthirakani, Director Lingusamy praised the movie. But still the movie is getting lukewarm response. This has med the producers upset and a lot worried.

'ThaniOruvan' which was produced by AGS cinemas got red card 

In order to get the investments back, the makers have started to promote the movie aggressively. It has to be noted that Tamil Nadu Film Producer's Council recently announced a rule that a movie can be promoted only up to 25 lakhs and the movie can be promoted on channels which holds the satellite rights. Recently 'ThaniOruvan' which was produced by AGS cinemas got red card from Producer's council for promoting the movie extensively. But SKT studios never followed even a single rule so far. The promotions are done in three channels and the promotions are done in a humongous way. But so far the producer's council has kept muted response. Is it that, just because Kalaipuli.S.Dhanu who is the president of Producers council produces Vijay's next the council is keeping muted response ?

When we tried to buzz the concerned authorities we just got muted response. At the same time even Tamil version of 'Rudhramadevi' was delayed as 'Puli' never managed to pull of the collections so far. But the exact reason was not revealed by the team. It has to be noted that Sun network who holds rights of 'Kanchana 2' so far never gave rights to any Home DVD/Blu-ray and it is still kept with them. But for 'Puli' the rights have already been provided to Suara and the songs and videos from the movie are consistently being aired on all leading networks. Even paper ads are posted on all leading dailies. Will Tamil Film Producers' Council take action or will just skip their favoruite ?
