Sources have stated as per new rules under the admissions in the NRI quota in colleges of Gujarat, students applying in the category are expected to have completed their class 12 from a school in the state. An official has disclosed this decision to the Admission Committee for Professional and Medical Education Courses.
The state government took a recent decision to scrap 15 per cent NRI seats for private medical schools and there is no NRI quota in state government colleges, the fee charged by NRI quota are extremely soaring, that too in foreign currency and NRI quota seats will now be merged with management quota seats, raising the management quota seats percentage to 25.
This year 75 per cent seats will be filled by students taking the GujCET and 25 per cent admissions will be given to management quota students, the one who have cleared NEET and as many as 85 percent of seats, will be filled by students taking the GujCET, while the rest 15 per cent will be gained by the students from all over the country taking NEET.
