More than 14000 of the 9 Lakh Indians who went on Business or Tourist Visas has overstayed in US last year. These are official figures. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said, "By 2014, 7.6 Lakh Indians were supposed to leave the country before the expiry of their B1B2 Visas. 11653 of them overstayed in United states."


Overstaying means a non-immigrant who was lawfully admitted to the US for an authorized period but stayed or remains in the country beyond his or her lawful admission period. As per the 'Entry Exit Overstay Report' by Department of Homeland Security.


Nearly 45 million non-immigrant visitor admissions were expected to move. But they have overstayed. In simple terms, 98.83% left USA on time and they abided by the terms of their admission. 527127 individuals have overstayed their admission.


DHS is making clear that they don't allow any person to stay after the Visa period. They Federal Government also said to eradicate terrorism, they will take all necessary action.
