In a proud moment, an Indian was appointed by President of United States as General trustee on board of the John.F.Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. President Obama appointed Mr.Ranvir Trehan who was an alumni of Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India was appointed as general trustee.


Regarding this, President Obama said, "These kind of public servants bring more depth and experience along with dedication to their pivotal roles. I look forward to working with them."


It has to be noted that the Kennedy Centre is the busiest performing arts facility in the US and annually hosts about 2,000 music, dance and theatre performances for audiences totalling nearly two million. Trehan who is generally an Indian, came to USA by the year 1964.


He got a BS from BITS and is chairman of Trehan Foundation. Trehan Foundation is a philanthropic organization and it was founded for providing international development. The Organization also focused on global poverty, arts centre and human services.
