Well, BJP at centre has been facing flak over several issues related to Andhra Pradesh and Venkaiah Naidu has been taking the hits from everyone with the center delaying the Special Status as promised earlier. But the fact remains that Venkaiah has been doing all he could.

He is utilizing everything under his domain for the state. There are reports that the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation which is headed by Venkaiah had reportedly approved the construction of 2,28,204 houses for the urban poor in five states namely Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The central government will be reportedly  providing an assistance of Rs.3,231 crore for building 2.28,2014 houses at the rate of  Rs.1.50 lakh per each house. Andhra Pradesh is all set to simply walk away with a lion share of houses, i.e. 1,93,147 houses in 37 cities.

The second state in the list is Gujarat which has been allocated 15,580 houses in 4 cities. Telangana comes third in the list with around 10,290 houses across 10 cities. This is definitely being seen as a significant help to the state government which is reeling under revenue deficit!
