Any individual or group worship freedom fighters, national icons and celebrities who bought laurels to the country. However in a shocker a website on Nathuram Godse, killer of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi couple of days back shocked all Indians.
Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha not only commerated Nathuram Godse's death anniversary which fell on Nov 15, the day when he was hanged in 1949 and celebrated it as 'balidan divas' (day of sacrifice). Its members also launched a website named 'Nathuram Godse — The Real Forgotten Hero'
Proudly supporting Nathuram Godse members even conducted havans in 120 offices across the country. Madan Acharya,president of Vishwa Hindupeeth said "We have launched the website (www.nathuramgodse.in) so that the public can enhance their knowledge about Godse and decide about his character. Scanned copies of his book 'Gandhi Vadh Kyu?' (Why Gandhi was killed) and his brother Gopal's 'Gandhi Vadh aur Main' will be uploaded on the website and will be available for all to read,"
Munna Kumar sharma, national general secretary of Hindu Mahasabha said "Godse had killed Mahatma Gandhi due to his involvement in the partition of the country. Godse was apprehensive that India would be divided further if Gandhi remained alive. To mark Godse's sacrifice, we have commemorated November 15 as 'Balidan Divas'. We conducted havans across the country,"
Organisers are even preparing a memorandum to be sent to President Pranab Mukherjee asking him to include Godse's biography in schools and also dostribute audio CD of upcoming film on Godse. Wonder where all this will lead to.
