Presently steps are taken to minimize the damage which is caused to the eco system of the Sundarbans area in the upcoming political season and meanwhile the district administrations and the political parties have decided to restrict carbon footprints in the island.


Banners which are prepared from cotton or jute will be used to replace plastic flex boards and plastic disposable cups will be replaced by paper cups, is planned to keep the place clean and tidy and not causing damages to the environment.


The plan will be implemented for the campaign awareness programs and it will be followed during the voter’s awareness program and the training sessions of poll officials will be done by them. For sung the mode of transport, LPG vehicles or electric run vans will be used rather than smoke developing cars.


There will be strict restriction in the use of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials during the campaigns. The Go green project will be emphasized in 13 assembly constituencies of the South 24 Parganas district of Sundarbans and another portion of North 24 Parganas will be teamed up to make a new district in Sudarbans, was declared by the Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.
