Regarding the drought conditions which has hit Telugu states, many
say the less spoken the better. For the first time in more than 50
years, even the forest regions of Adilabad have gone dry due to back to
back drought for last two years. The situation is really concerning.
There have been reports that Lower Manair, Mid Manair, Sriram Sagar, Manjeera have all gone dry. In one month,
the reservoir of Sriram Sagar is expected to resemble a playground.
With the water fully becoming scarce, few villages and popular temples
that were submerged decades ago have been resurfacing.
Some
of these temples have suddenly become popular and as appalling it may
be, buses and autos are plying on the river not in a perpendicular
direction, but exactly in the middle of river carrying pilgrims to these
destinations.
Most of the towns in North
Telangana including thousands of villages are expected to go dry with
not even drop of water in next few days. It is indeed a challenge for
the government also and people are hoping that atleast this year’s
monsoon won’t be disappointing.
