The art of political nurturing is not that easy to master and it
takes a lot of work to do this in an effective manner. The firebrand TRS
leader and Telangana Minister for Irrigation, Marketing &
Legislative Affairs Harish Rao has assiduously cultivated Siddipet in
Medak district as his home ground.
When KCR was
in TDP, it was a safe bastion and later with birth of TRS, KCR kept
changing his constituencies and he handed Siddipet over to Harish. The
latter didn’t disappoint KCR and he ensured good funds even during
Congress regime for this region.
Now Siddipet
local body results is out and out of 36 wards, TRS won only 24 wards
while around 6 wards were wrested by Independents followed by 2 each for
BJP, Congress and others. It was a matter of prestige for Harish Rao to
make a clean sweep here.
But this is
definitely a shocker because TRS is not used to giving any space for
opposition or other political rivals in last five to six years. Now
unable to secure total victory in Siddipet is definitely a bad news for
Harish! It has to be seen how Harish is going to deal with this now.
