Hyderabad sources have armed with documentary evidence, where the Telangana government is all set to stake claim over the AP Bhavan in New Delhi the state government in a letter to home minister Rajnath Singh has said it intended to build a 'Telangana Bhavan' with adequate facilities, including a cultural centre for the people of Telangana living in Delhi.
Meanwhile the government has been saying that since the modern day AP Bhavan belonged to the erstwhile State of Hyderabad, it rightfully should be allocated to Telangana and the residuary state of AP be given separate land for another Bhavan.
The AP Bhavan has one of New Delhi's most popular restaurants which serve lip smacking Hyderabadi biriyani and other delicious Telugu food, and is a very popular haunt for politicians and foodies.
Finally lady luck smiled on them after they found documents at the Telangana State Archives & Research Institute stating that the five acre plus property and a building on Ashoka Road, was indeed sold to the Nizam and the Nizam's palace is the present Hyderabad House in Delhi.
