1.  Longer queues at banks, Hyderabad ATMs still run dry :  With cash dispensing machines (ATMs) running dry even four months after the Modi government introduced demonetisation, many banks across the city witnessed chaos and longer queues on Monday as people jostled to withdraw money from the branches.
2.  Telangana to HC: No revision of rate for land before acquisition :  The State of Telangana has decided not to revise the existing market values of the land across the state for this year. The state's Advocate General K Ramakrishna Reddy conveyed this to Hyderabad High Court on Monday. 
3.  Govt rocks cradle with 'KCR Kit' for moms, aims to curb mortality :  The Telangana government has come up with a new scheme for newborns and mothers to reduce child and maternal mortality rates. The 'KCR kit' will have 16 items, including diapers, with a funds allocation of Rs 605 crore.
4.  Red report card: Last 2 years, funds unspent :  If past performances are looked into, all is not well with the finances of Telangana. Several key departments, including irrigation, have failed to spend the amount that was allocated to them in the budget.
5.  Osmania University gets just enough to hold centenary fest :  With the state government announcing a one-time grant of Rs 200 crore for Osmania University Centenary celebrations, cash-strapped varsity officials breathed a sigh of relief and said they have to prioritize their agenda to put up a grand show.
6.  Colleges & JNTU locked in tussle over common service fee :  Colleges and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) have yet again locked horns over common service feearrears as the latter has issued a strong-worded letter to the college managements to clear the dues by March 15.
7.  Funds blackout in budget likely to trigger tariff hike :  The stage is set for a power tariff hike as the TRS government refused to allot additional funds in the budget as sought by the power utilities.
8.  Behind budget gleam, coffers bleed on debt :  Telangana's fiscal health is not rosy with public debt mounting every year. The total debt burden now stands at 1,40,523.17 crore. According to the budget report tabled on Monday, the state is taking mammoth loans to ensure momentum in economic activity.
9.  Taint reality kicks in with leading realtor Vamsiram :  Vamsiram Builders, the proprietor of the under-construction project in Kondapur struck by tragedy on Monday morning, is a popular player in Hyderabad's realty circuit. Initial investigations point towards lack of precautionary measures, taken by the builder, as a reason for the accident.
10.  After huge thud, heard victims scream for help, says eyewitness :  Tomesh Kumar Sahari, a migrant worker from Chhattisgarh who had come to the construction site to work just three days ago, woke up to what he thought was a huge explosion.


Andhra Pradesh
1. Probe sought into death of Nigerian in Bengaluru :  :Police deny they killed him, say he died while fleeing them. Alleging police brutality, the African community in Bengaluru has demanded a probe into the death of a businessman, who, according to the police, died in a motor vehicle accident while fleeing from them in Kothanur early on Monday.
2.  Hindutva activists held for attack on Kannada writer :  Two persons, said to be members of the Hindu Jagarav Vedike, have been arrested in connection with the episode of smearing black oil on the face of progressive writer Yogesh Master in Davangere on Sunday.
3.  State’s spending on SC/ST sub-plans is inadequate :  The utilisation of funds under the Scheduled Caste Sub- Plan (SCSP) and the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) continues to be paltry indicating the State’s apathy towards the welfare of the Dalits and Tribal persons, a study by Dalit Bahujan Research Centre (DBRC) has said.
4.  Another strike against ‘restrictions’ :  Students of the autonomous Fatima Mata National College here launched an agitation on Monday demanding the scrapping of ‘unbearable restrictions that infringe on their liberties.’
5.  Chinese firm in the fray for preparing MADA plan :  The Guizhou International Investment Corporation (GIIC) of China has completed field study in the strategic locations proposed to be developed by the Machilipatnam Area Development Authority (MADA).
6.   MLA’s assurance to paper mill workers :  City MLA Akula Satyanarayana on Monday assured the workers of AP Paper Mill of getting solved their issues. He was speaking to the workers belonging to BMS union, who represented to the MLA about different their issues including suspension of 31 workers in the past.
7.  People support performing govts: CM :  The people will support only performing governments and it is evident from the recently held elections to five State Assemblies, said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
8.  Present A.P. Budget in Telugu, FM urged :  Former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad has appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to ensure presentation of the first budget, from the new Assembly building in Amaravathi, in Telugu. Mr. Lakshmi Prasad, who is chairman of Lok Nayak Foundation, recalled that in the past Telangana Minister Eetela Rajender had introduced the State budget of Telangana in Telugu last year but the A.P. Finance Minister had presented it in English last year.
9.  Drop disinvestment move: DCI officers :  Dredging Corporation of India Officers’ Association has appealed to the authorities concerned to refrain from going ahead with the proposed sale of stake in DCI.
10.  Panchayat chamber to move High Court :  Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber (APPRC) has decided to fight legally on delegation of powers to sarpanches in the State.
